The Wellsville Development Corporation is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and an arm of the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce. The community-based corporation focuses on revitalization, economic development and beautification planning projects. The WDC is governed by an executive committee as well as a body of board members. Our mission is to contribute to the quality of life in Wellsville and bring revitalization and beauty to our community.

The WDC currently heads up beautification projects such as Wellsville’s Main Street flower boxes and holiday decorations! In the past, the WDC has led projects such as hardware for Main Street’s light pole banners, trash receptacles, benches, and more!

In 2018, we set a goal to boost support for local business and therefore began to host our meetings at local businesses, as well as started a new bi-annual event, ‘Banter, Business, and Beverages,’ to promote networking among community members of every kind! In 2019, we met our goal of expanding our reach to a wider network of community members by hosting the Kids Mystery Event and a Teacher Nomination Giveaway. In 2020 we brought to life a mini grant program that would allow us to fund others’ beautification and betterment projects in Wellsville, NY, which we are happy to say, we achieved and are now in our third year. In 2021 we were able to purchase new string lights to wrap the light poles as well as two new holiday light toppers! In 2022, we added 12 additional flower planters to line Main Street and finally brought back some of our traditional events as we found a new normal amidst the pandemic. In 2023, we are bringing even more flower planters and holiday lights to Wellsville, have partnered with the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce and a generous donor to restore the clock on Main Street, plus we have some other fun up our sleeves so stay tuned!
